Students will explore a variety of subjects from horse anatomy to riding.    Students will ride both bareback and in saddle to develop balance and security.  We will use a variety of ponies and horses of different sizes.
Students will bring bag lunches which will be enjoyed in the redwood grove or
picnic tables by our arena.
The children will experience summer days at a horse ranch and have fun running
around after the horses, ponies, and foals.  They will enjoy picking apples in our
apple orchard.  On hot days we will bathe the horses and the children will partake in water fun to stay cool.
The sessions will be filled with  riding, bathing, feeding and cleaning.  Preparing the horses to bed down for the day.  Students will also learn tack care and horse health issues.
Our students enjoy the outdoors all day long and the experience of working
together to learn about horses and riding.  Along the way learning team work,
sportsmanship, gaining self confidence and pride.  They help and support each
other in their efforts to learn about horses and to ride. The children learn to respect each other and the horses.  Our hope is that our summer campers leave the ranch with a sense of wonder and awe of horses.  That they learn patience, understanding and compassion for the animals and each other.
