The red star is at Soquel School, where many of the Sesquitennial events will take place (on Porter Street a few blocks off Hwy 1.) This map shows Soquel on the northern part of Monterey Bay. It is 6 miles east of Santa Curz (that would be south on Hwy 1 from Santa Cruz) and about 10 miles west of Watsonville (which is north of Watsonville on Hwy1). Soquel and Capitola share the Bay - Porter Street exits off Hwy 1. Capitola is towards the ocean, and Soquel is towards the mountains from Hwy 1.
