Songs and Swordfights at Aptos Academy! An original, dramatic production of "The Pirates of Penzance or The Slave of Duty" will be sailing onto the stage at the Aptos Academy to entertain land lubbers of all ages. The rollicking good humor of the Gilbert and Sullivan "Pirates" is as much fun today as it ever was. Aptos Academy students in grade 6 through 8 will perform a youth-friendly version of this musical that makes fun of serious operas, and features crazy antics, mock battles, silly stories and songs. Free. 7 pm. 1910 Bonita Dr., Aptos. 831-688-1080, www.aptosacademy.org Two shows: May 9 and May 10.
